Ricky Ponting - Best Aussie

Ricky Ponting today became the highest run-scorer in Test cricket for Australia after moving past Allan Border's mark at Edgbaston.

Ponting started day two of the third Test against England needing eight runs to better Border's mark of 11,174 Test runs and achieved it with a clip through the leg side off Andrew Flintoff.

Australia needed Ponting to make a sizeable contribution today after losing Shane Watson and Mike Hussey to the first two balls of the day, but the captain became Graham Onions' third victim of the morning session when he was caught behind for 38.

Feng Shui brings good Luck

Please scroll down the page of this link to find Feng Shui Shop

I read this at the Feng Shui website and thought I would share it on my blog as I thought it was so useful!

“From a Feng Shui perspective it is important to keep illness and obstacles at bay during the course of the year. These are the main influences that negatively impact on maintaining quality relationships. Thereby, you can support your family by implementing the following changes in your workplace and particularly in your home over the next two months.

August:
Place 6 metal coins in the northeast of your business, home and/or your bedrooom. It is also worthwhile to hang an all metal wind chime or bell in the southwest position during this time.

September:
Remove the objects from the their position in August and....put the 6 metal coins in the south of your business, home and/or your bedrooom. The all metal wind chime or bell is best placed so that it is in the east sector of your home or business premises.

Winter Health!! Sadly it’s true...it just seems harder to maintain good physical and
mental health during the winter season. We tend to forget that less daylight and
longer nights do alter our internal body rythms and impact quite strongly on our
psyche. We just need to consider the studies carried out in the Laplands of Norway.
Here are a few ideas on how to beat those winter colds and flus.

Eat a balanced diet; One of the most important things for good health is to eat well. It is so easy to reach for the fatty, delicious yet heavy winter fare but this is a time that it is even more important to include your fresh fruits and vegetables. Also, create yummy dishes by using warming spices such as ginger, cayenne and pepper.

Exercise regularly; Often we will use winter as a good reason to sit by the fire and watch TV rather than exercise If this is you, then use this time to exercise your muscles in a low impact manner. Use your lounge room floor and do squats, step ups or stretches. Alternatively watch your favourite programme whilst skipping, walking or running on the spot.

Sleep; a good nights sleep is important at the best of times but this is especially true
during the winter season.

Drink plenty of water; this is an often made statement and once again, especially
valid during winter. Drinking plenty of water is much easier to do in summer than the peak of winter but vital when you become ill with a cold or flu. If need be, add a dash of lemon to your warm water or simply keep up your fluids by drinking a healthy, traditionally made chai tea. For those finding their systems ‘out of
whack’ during the winter months you can assist yourself by ensuring that you place 6 metal coins in the northeast of your bedroom during August, in the south during
September and in the north during October.

Debt Reduction!! Personally, whilst I believe there is a time for taking on some debt I am generally averse to owing money to anyone. Therefore, my aim is always to reduce any debt that I may incur. In today’s economic climate and with the prospect of interest rate rises in due course, this is a particularly important endeavour. By definition; debt is an amount owed to a person or company, for funds borrowed. This can be represented as a mortgage, investment loan, hire purchase or other form, stating repayment terms and interest. The various forms of debt all imply an intent to repay at a specific date according to the conditions. Here are 4 tips on how to manage your spending so as to minimise debt levels.

Know your financial position. Be honest and write down exactly how much you owe, how much you spend and what you can afford to repay. This is critical for you to determine what you can do and what you may consider giving up to achieve your desired outcome.

Set yourself a goal. Goal setting provides an objective and creates ambition making it easier for you to stay on course.

Always pay more than the minimum repayment. This is vital if you are to reduce your debt total quickly. So work out how much extra you can pay and stick to it come what may.

Cut your spending. Rather than work more to increase the amount of money you have each week, find ways to reduce your spend rate. E.g. if you go out 3 nights, reduce this to one until you have achieved your goal. If you buy lunch 5 days per week, consider home made lunches 3 times per week and only buy out twice. Consider buying items only if you really need them and only when they’re on sale. If you buy 3 cups of coffee per day cut back to once a day – good for your health and your pocket.

Romance in winter!! Any time is perfect for romance but winter is a particularly wonderful time. The cooler weather provides additional time together that is usually more quiet, still and peaceful than say through the summer months. Some consider romance a frivolous preoccupation and, not true love. Granted romance in itself will not provide the desired emotional depth, stability and intimacy but it does fill our hearts, bodies and minds with renewed interest and vigour. And, when it is a part of ‘true love’, life seems to become richer. An oversized jumper, pyjamas, warm slippers, hot chocolate, marshmallows, a raging fire and a bottle of red are all wonders of winter. These simple pleasures make it easy to set the scene for Romance at this time of year. It can be absolutely delightful and...intimate and....inexpensive. Two suggestions on how to keep your romance alive during the winter months rather than slouching in front of the TV.

Light the fire, play your favourite CD and savour a delicious glass of red whilst basking in the quiet time you’re spending together. If you’re teatotallers, enjoy a hot chocolate and just be in the moment.

Cook together; sharing a meal is a simple pleasure. Why not both use your cullinary skills to create a sumptuous, healthy meal together whilst sipping a glass of champagne & listening to music.

Massage; create the setting for a soothing, sensual massage by the fire. Whatever you do, plan those simple pleasures, organize that lounge room picnic, pamper where possible and most of all enjoy those precious moments - together.”

michael jackson's son omer

Joe Jackson said in recent interview with NewsOne's Chief Content Officer, Smokey Fontaine, that he believes late Michael Jackson had another son in addition to his 3 children; Prince Michael Jackson Jr., Prince Michael Jackson II, and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson. The disclosure came after a flow of rumors that 25-year-old Omer Bhatti is the King of Pop's secret child.

Interviewed by Smokey whether he believes public's suspicion if Omer is Michael's son, Joe stated, "I knew that he had another son". He then carried on, "Yes I did. He looks like a Jackson, he acts like a Jackson, he can dance like a Jackson" when referring to Omar, adding that the young man is a "fantastic dancer."

When Smokey asked him if it is safe to say that Omer is the future Michael Jackson, Joe answered "I don't know. I can't say that yet until I see that happens." In further interview with Smokey, which was conducted in combination with NewsOne and TVOne, Joe also opened up about coping with Michael's death and the possibility of the singer to stay alive today if he had been there for him.

Rumors that Omer Bhatti is Michael Jackson's secret child first surfaced after he was photographed sitting with the Jackson family at the singer's public memorial in Los Angeles earlier this month. Omer has reportedly denied that Michael is his father though.

Pia Bhatti is also rumored to be Blanket's mother but swore to secrecy about Blanket's identity to Michael Jackson.

Creating Family Trees

Creating a family tree proves to be a very rewarding hobby!

Family tree making is the process of documenting the names and dates of family members, along with pictures, stories and other memorabilia. With the latest family tree making software, you can easily create professional looking family trees and even books dedicated to your family history. Once you are done, you have a family resource that is not only fun for you, but useful and informative for your kids and other family members.

It’s a great feeling to know who our ancestors were, our background, our roots, what we are all about.

Once upon a time we used to rely on information our great grandmother was willing to tell us or even remembered, now the internet plays a great role in assisting us on creating a family tree. This makes the challenge more satisfying and realistic.

Creating a family tree can be very addictive & fulfilling. The more you know, the more you want to find out! It's like putting pieces of a puzzle together.

Did you know:

The longest family tree in the world today is that of the Chinese philosopher and educator Confucius (551-479 BC). The tree spans more than 80 generations, and includes more than 2 million members. An international effort involving more than 450 branches around the world was started in 1998 to retrace and revise this family tree.

I recently launched a website packed with companies offering goods & services to consumers who like the convenience of online shopping. BDW provides worldwide consumers with choices.

Online shopping has become very popular worldwide for its convenience, I personally find online shopping stress-free as I am a very busy person managing between my full-time job, part-time bookkeeping business and now my newly quest: Best Deals Web. I don’t have time to shop, I prefer to let my fingers do the “shopping around” at night, when I am at home, I love checking prices and making a decision on the value for money and the fact that it will be delivered at my door step worry-free.

Don’t get me wrong, I love shopping, I just don’t enjoy, getting dressed, getting in the car, looking for a car park and walking all day to find my best value for money deal. This sounds like a chore to me & too much hard work.

I appreciate any feedback. If there's anything you would like me to add to the website, please use the "Contact us" and I will do my best to acquire.

Planet of the Apes (2001)

This remake of the 1960s camp classic starring Charlton Heston (who makes an appearance here) is anything but monkey business.

After flying through a space "worm hole," astronaut Mark Wahlberg crashes on a planet where simians rule over humans. Aided and abetted by a sympathetic chimpanzee (Helena Bonham Carter), Wahlberg leads a small band of rebels against their captors.

In the year 2029, aboard the United States Air Force space station Oberon, Leo Davidson works closely with primates who are trained for space missions. His favorite simian co-worker is a chimpanzee named Pericles. With a fatal electromagnetic storm approaching the station, a small space pod piloted by Pericles is used to probe the storm. Pericles' pod heads into the storm and disappears. Against his commanding officer's orders, Leo takes a second pod and goes in pursuit of Pericles. Entering the storm, Leo loses contact with the Oberon and crashes on a planet in the year 3002. He discovers that the world is ruled by humanoid apes who can speak human language and treat human beings as slaves.

The finale's a doozy.
